ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the results of cross-case analysis of the data. It collects additional data from a broader set of Russian companies to determine whether the same trends can be traced in a larger group of organizations. The chapter presents the results of review of the additional data and reflects on trends that may be common to industries and clusters of companies. The corporate documents were aligned with the federal government's legislative documents. These documents were called either 'strategic directions' or 'strategic plans' for personnel or HR development. Many large Russian companies were rapidly expanding their operations not only in Russia and the CIS, but also in Western Europe and on other continents, and most of this expansion was happening through acquisitions of existing local companies. Strategic Human Resource Development (SHRD) can be regarded as a higher-level construct, encompassing Talent Management (TM) and Talent Development, but also other programs and sub-systems.
