The Chinese securities market and information disclosure
Introduction To further improve the regulation of the securities market, information disclosure is one of the central issues. The regime itself has been changed with the reform of securities markets. In this chapter, the past and present structure of the securities market, law and regulation, particularly the information disclosure regime in China, will be examined. First, in order to define the scope of the book, the chapter introduces the Chinese securities market and regulation. Second, definition of the information disclosure and relevant theories will be summarized from both international and national levels. Moreover, based on the literature reviewed, the realities of the Chinese securities market will be analysed. Furthermore, the regime in the UK, Hong Kong and some selected international standards will be introduced. Based on this comparative study, conclusions will be drawn for the evolution of Chinese procedures.
