The health and social care of people with learning disability are often dependent upon a range of individuals; some paid, some unpaid and some professionally qualifi ed and some unqualifi ed and relatively unskilled. The ability of many of these individuals to assist people with range of learning disabilities to access good quality services is varied (see Michael, 2008 and Mencap, 2007).
