Murray Siegel: Discovering the Central Limit Theorem

Murray Siegel has taught statistics at the high school level for more than 20 years. His beliefs that students learn more through discovery than through lecture and that mathematics is best learned through discourse motivated him to continue to seek ways to actively engage his students. One such activity is described in this profi le and was taught to students at the J. L. Mann Academy of Mathematics, Science, and Technology in Greenville, South Carolina.
