ABSTRACT

This type of risk was characterized by a participant sharing personal information about herself with students or colleagues in a vague, but hon est manner. For instance, a participant might acknowledge that she owns a house with a “ roommate,” or bring her partner to school events and de scribe her as a “ friend.” A participant also might invite students to her home but not clarify the living arrangements. The consequences of such risks were not clear to the participant. For example, some participants socialized with their colleagues extensively, but they were not sure if their lesbianism had been ascertained.
