Cervical spines of middle-aged soccer players: radiographic findings and computer simulation
Norway's way of attacking is far more influenced by match analysis. Match analysis is used to evaluate patterns of play, team and player performance and as a way of enhancing the scientific approach to soccer. The work has a clear pragmatic aim and the outcome of the analysis is meant to be a tool for evaluation and development of team tactics. The analysis has influenced soccer play, especially in attack. The methods and data presented are also the result of the Norwegian Football Association (FA)'s first step in a three-phase plan to develop an efficient computerised notation analysis program. The configuration of a soccer match and therefore the outcome depends very much on the interaction of the two teams. Notation analysis has enabled Norway to maximise its limited resources, in terms of playing population and the extreme weather conditions faced in the country, and compete with the best teams in the world.
