ABSTRACT

Health and bodily awareness is about how children learn the importance of keeping healthy and the factors that contribute to maintaining their health. Good health in the early years helps to safeguard health and well-being throughout life. It is important that children develop healthy habits when they first learn about food and activity. The team recognises the need to focus on Theo and his family to ensure that they receive the support necessary for him to make the best of his time here. The team resolves to update its mission statement to reflect its intention to prepare more fully for children with an additional language. By reflecting what they have learnt from observing Theo in nursery then talking with his parents, his team is able to plan activities specifically for him, using his physical prowess as central to his social, emotional and language development.
