ABSTRACT

An earlier version of this chapter was published as a paper in 1997 in the British Journal of Music Therapy (Brown 1997). In that paper, I drew together factors that need to be considered and held in balance within music therapy supervision, illustrating this with clinical 'vignettes' from my own supervision practice. On revisiting the paper, I have been pleased to find that, in general, I agree with myself. However, nine further years of supervision practice - and of life - necessarily encompass changing landscapes, both externally and internally.
