ABSTRACT
Parmenides great poem, in which he expounds his view of the world, consists of a kind of prologue or introduction and two main parts, usually called 'the Way of Truth' and 'the Way of Opinion'. In the prologue we learn how Parmenides meets the goddess and that she promises to reveal everything to him: both the 'well-rounded and unshakably certain truth' and the 'opinions of the mortals, which are not true' (B1: 29-30).
