ABSTRACT
Aim of chapter The aim of this chapter is to describe the mental health care system of the City of Verona, Italy. The principles on which our system is organised will be briefly illustrated and some epidemiologically-based data, collected over the last 18 years using the South-Verona Psychiatric Case Register (PCR), will be presented. Finally the results of some evaluative studies conducted so far in our area will be summarised.
