ABSTRACT

The Rorschach of Nazi Baldur von Schirach was chosen for comparing and integrating the Comprehensive System (Exner, 1993) and more content-oriented psychodynamic approaches (Lerner, 1991) because it is a relatively brief Rorschach with rich and complex responses. Von Schirach was the first leader of the Hitler Youth and later the Gauleiter of Vienna. This case study combines Rorschach interpretations and historical information (Craig, 1978; Davidson, 1966; Gilbert, 1947; Miale & Selzer, 1975; West, 1955; Zillmer, Harrower, Ritzler, & Archer, 1995) to explain von Schirach’s behavior as a Nazi.
