Formulating Issues in Rorschach Research
Rorschach research can be grossly and imperfectly differentiated between investigations aimed to validate the test and investigations that assume the test is valid for specific purposes. Within that differentiation, several general research models can be identified. For instance, classic experimental methodology is sometimes used in research that seeks to validate the aspects of the test. In these designs, subjects are randomly assigned to groups. exposed to experimental manipulations, and Rorschach variables are dependent measures. Although these type of studies occur rather infrequently in Rorschach literature, they often have yielded very important findings about the test and its applications.
