ABSTRACT

It is a great pleasure for me to offer my comments on the chapter by Joyce Epstein and related matters. This is a very substantial chapter, a real tour de force by a preeminent researcher and thinker in the area of school, family, and community partnerships. Joyce Epstein has been working diligently in this area for more than a decade. Her intellectual leadership is apparent in her many articles in scholarly journals as well as the numerous programs she has advised and the many who are using her concepts and findings in their daily work. This is indeed an exciting area for interaction between researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.
