ABSTRACT
Since the first appearance of professional prostitution fugitive efforts have been made to stamp it out of existence. There have always been moralists and others who, for one reason or another, have disagreed with the apologetic argument that prostitution is a necessary evil, and, in the main, these members of the opposing party have been responsible for the attempts at suppression.
