ABSTRACT

On the afternoon of 17 July, the Egyptian delegation to the tripartite meeting boarded the plane for London. The delegation consisted of myself and Ambassadors Ussama El Baz, Nabil El Araby, Abdel Raouf Al Ridi and Ahmed Maher El Sayid, as well as First Secretary Ahmed Abou El Gheit from my office, a very promising young man. The atmosphere was gay and festive, for the group rejoiced in its team spirit and was conscious of its national and Arab responsibility. We were, moreover, carrying with us a well-balanced, solid project that would be hard to argue against.
