ABSTRACT
When I returned to Egypt after the Leeds Castle Conference, press reports of a follow-up tripartite meeting at ministerial level started to leak in the United States. The venues suggested for that meeting were as varied as the news reports themselves: one would have it that El Arish had been selected, another that the meeting was to take place at the American early-warning station at Um Khasheiba in Sinai – while a third hinted that the meeting was to take place at sea abroad one of the United States battleships of the Sixth Fleet!
