ABSTRACT

The Lakewood University Business School was founded in 1924. Today, it is recognized as one of the world’s leaders in management education and research, offering a range of programs spanning undergraduate (BBA), graduate (MBA, Master of Accounting, and Ph.D.), and executive education. There are twelve academic departments at the School: Accounting; Business Administration; Business Economics and Public Policy; Computer and Information Systems; Corporate Strategy; Finance; International Business; Law, History, and Communication; Marketing; Operations Management; Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management; and Statistics and Management Science. Because the School emphasizes a “general manager” orientation in which BBA and MBA students are discouraged from “majoring” in particular academic specialties or concentrations, the academic structure is quite centralized relative to some other schools and colleges at the University.
