ABSTRACT

The College of Engineering was founded at Lakewood University in 1853, when fewer than a half-dozen American colleges were offering formal academic programs in engineering. It is made up of fourteen departments: Aerospace Engineering; Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences; Biomedical Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Civil and Environmental Engineering; Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Industrial and Operations Engineering; Macromolecular Science and Engineering; Manufacturing; Materials Science and Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering; and Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences. The College is consistently ranked among the top ten schools and colleges of engineering nationally.
