ABSTRACT

This chapter is written mainly for people who are in a long-term relationship with a survivor. While the focus is mostly on a male partner supporting a female survivor, much information may be of use to female partners of male survivors, as well as same sex couples. Some suggestions may also be of use to a survivor’s friends and supportive family members. The situation is more complicated when both partners are healing from child sexual abuse. When this is the case, each partner may want to read this chapter in their role of partner rather than survivor.
