ABSTRACT

THE CURRICULUM is everything that goes on in school. There is the formal explicit part; the informal part, which covers all the bits everybody knows go on between lessons, in the corridors or the playground, assembly or clubs; and the hidden curriculum, covering the bits about relationships and climate, the way you feel when you work in or visit a place. Much of this chapter is similar to that in the Level 2 book as there are some common themes in the two levels. However, working at Level 3 you must recognise that the expectation of your knowledge and understanding of subject matter by the teachers will be greater. Only you can get that, this book cannot cover all the subjects. One of the standards, STL 28, is specifically about supporting in a subject area other than ICT, literacy, numeracy or early years. There are separate standards at Level 3 for each of these: STL 8, 25, 26 and 27 respectively.
