ABSTRACT

Friends in Village Development (FIVDB) is a Bangladeshi NGO formed in 1980 to take over and manage an earlier village development project established by International Voluntary Services (IVS). Its work consists of organization building and income-generation among the landless people of rural areas. FIVDB’s group-based, integrated approach to development includes functional education, credit and savings, enterprise development, livestock and agriculture extension, duck-rearing, women’s development, health and children’s education.
