ABSTRACT
International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) On 7 November 1955, the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) was founded in Los Angeles, USA, where delegates from 38 ports and maritime organisations in 14 countries gathered to celebrate the birth of this worldwide body of ports and harbours. The past five decades have seen IAPH steadily grow and develop as a truly leading organisation of the global port community representing, if not all, a majority of ports and harbours in the world. In 2005, IAPH will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its founding world wide. It is a non-profit-making and non-governmental organisation (NGO) headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
