ABSTRACT
In this chapter we will consider the important role that talk also plays in teaching mathematics. We will explore how the use of signs and symbols in mathematical language makes this process potentially challenging and can lead to misconceptions. We will examine how ICT can help to address these misconceptions, as well as how it can be used in the areas of Number, Shape, Space and Measure and Handling Data.
