ABSTRACT
In 1 Samuel, Saul has proved an able warrior but an unstable man. His incorrigible envy of David’s growing success and popularity after he kills the Philistine giant, Goliath (1 Sam Chapter 17 ) unsettles the nation. When Saul and Jonathan are killed in battle, David becomes king (2 Sam Chapter 1 ).
