ABSTRACT

The purpose of this project is to explore the notion of listener perspective, which we have defined as the cognitive, cultural, and emotional

influences on the way the a person listens: senses the world, categorises and codifies experiences. As was discussed in Chapters 3 and 4, a listener’s perspective – which is formed through a personal history of background experiences – will strongly influence the way he or she attends to the input, participates, recalls what has transpired, and reports his or her version of events.
