ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explores how Religious Education should be about Key Skills. In particular the Personal Learning and Thinking Skills of: Communication, Reflection, Thinking, Enquiry. It provides advice on how to creatively connect RE with Art, Dance, Drama and Music. The book focuses on planning and assessment of RE, which some would claim are the nuts and bolts of learning and teaching. It also tries to help students lose some of the worry that teachers may have about how to teach creative RE, what to teach in RE, how to plan for RE, how to use resources and where to get the information teachers don't have so that teachers develop their subject knowledge. The book discusses cross-curricular teaching is planning for and teaching specific learning objectives for at least two subjects simultaneously. It reviews thematic teaching is teaching RE within a theme that links to other subjects.
