At the time, there was collusion between the communists and the United States with a view to reaching the agreement of 26th October 1972. This agreement, which I spent much time explaining to our compatriots . . . was an agreement by which the United States sold South Vietnam to the communists. I had enough courage to tell Secretary of State Kissinger at that time the following: if you accept this agreement, this means you accept to sell South Vietnam to the North Vietnamese communists.
