ABSTRACT

Mary Celeste has proved an inspiration for very few plays and films, although the few there have been have featured in some of the most historic programmes in their respective media, particularly radio, where the mystery has featured in one of the earliest radio dramas, one of the most famous radio series in the United States, and as an episode of the famous Goon Show. All this, as well as being the subject of the second movie to come from the cult Hammer Studios, later synonymous with horror movies, particularly its coupling of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
