ABSTRACT

Many inexperienced teachers feel overwhelmed by the task of trying to manage a room full of lively pupils and the questions they commonly ask me: ‘How does one keep order’, ‘How does one interest a class which is bored or hostile?’ These are important questions and many volumes dealing with educational philosophy and educational psychology deal with the problems of class control.
