ABSTRACT

Dated ‘August, 1810’ in V&C, where it follows No. 24 and evidently concerns the same occasion: the brief reunion with Harriet Grove on 16–18 August. Lines 9–15 and 17–18 were also among the verses written out for Hogg at Oxford as examples of Elizabeth S.’s work (see headnotes to Nos. 19 and 24), in this case with changes of pronoun and other alterations (noted below) designed to make her authorship plausible.
