ABSTRACT

The auditing and review of the health and safety management subsystem is essential to maintaining the effectiveness of both the corporate organization and the control procedures utilized within the project organization. Independent auditing provides information to the organization which can be linked back to company policy making so providing feedback which completes the loop in the health and safety management subsystem. Auditing focuses on the dynamics of the health and safety management approach and the behavioural aspects of the people who implement the approach. This chapter presents an insight into the key elements of auditing by the organization.
