ABSTRACT
Before a prospective client can give approval for detailed and costly design work to proceed, he must first be sure that his funds are sufficient to cover the full development costs, including the legal and professional fees, involved in the provision of the building. If at this early stage in the process, the development appraisal proves the building to be too costly, then amendments to the scheme can be made or the project abandoned with as little wasted effort and cost as possible.
