ABSTRACT

Generally, there is a lot of information available on European Union Web servers, although some of it is not as easy to locate as it could be. If you select the link to Institutions a file with the title Institutions of the European Union is downloaded. This provides outline details relating to the functions, powers and responsibilities of each organizational entity of the EU (e.g. Parliament, Commission, Court of Auditors) and links to their home pages. These home pages are relatively informative and the details should suffice to give those not familiar with the EU and its institutional structure a broad overview of how it operates and what the functions of its constituent organs are. In addition to the information that is available from the pages of each organ, there is a useful document called A General Overview of the Institutions of the European Union,

<https://europa.eu.intlen/commlopocelbrocintlgb/default.html>; that also links indirectly to the home pages of the separate organizational entities. This is a good place to start from to develop familiarity with the organizational structure of the ED.
