ABSTRACT

In this chapter detailed information is provided on how to configure the more important Netscape settings and how to install software applications. The sections dealing with Netscape settings include details on the use of plug-ins and the configuration of helper applications, both of which are tools that can be employed to read files that browsers cannot handle directly. The sections on software provide information on where to locate programs and how to download, decompress and install them. In addition, there is a brief section on bookmark applications and a section on keeping abreast of new Web resources.
