ABSTRACT

T hroughout Labour’s history there has been a political relationship with a left wing in the party and left organisations - often self-proclaimed as Marxist and revolutionary - outside the party. The chronologies that follow set out these relationships. The Independent Labour Party (ILP), which was a constituent part of the Labour Representation Committee (LRC) at its foundation in 1900 but which disaffiliated from Labour in 1932, appears in each of the chronologies. Detailed information on the organisations in these chronologies can be found in the Glossary.
