ABSTRACT
From 1906 to 1921 the leading figures in the Labour Party were known as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Parliamentary Party, from 1922 to 1963 as the Chairman and Leader of the Parliamentary Party and Deputy Leader, from 1970 to 1978 as Leader of the Parliamentary Party and Deputy Leader, and from 1978 onwards as Leader and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.
