ABSTRACT
Chapter 6 described the tasks that a quality manager is required to perform when implementing ISO 9000. Quality managers do not appoint themselves. They are given the responsibility and authority to carry out their job by senior management. ISO 9000 is normally required as a minimum to tender for work being let by clients such as government agencies, and other public sector bodies. Thus, for many organisations, becoming registered to QA is a vital strategic decision.
