ABSTRACT
The term ‘birdcage’ is used in the scaffolding industry to mean a structure several bays long and several bays wide that can be boarded over the whole or a large part of the top lift. Such a structure is required to decorate a ceiling in a large building. It can also provide lifts for working platforms on its sides to permit treatment of the walls of the building.
