ABSTRACT
The erection time on site is less for prefabricated systems than for tube-and-coupler towers, provided that the job is of a suitable shape for using the system. However, some of the time saved is lost in the longer handling time from the stores to the lorry, from the lorry to the scaffold area and from the scaffold area to the top of the scaffold. Total man hours can sometimes be reduced to about two-thirds of that for tube-and-coupler scaffolds.
