ABSTRACT

A slung scaffold is one that hangs down from the structure that supports it but cannot be raised or lowered by the operators on it. It can be suspended on tubes, on wire ropes or on specially made steel hooks. It can be slung beneath a tubular truss-out projecting from a building face or roof. The term ‘drop scaffold’ is sometimes used to identify a tubular slung scaffold built downwards from a tubular truss-out.
