ABSTRACT

Many prefabricated frames have been designed to enable a scaffold to be built by unskilled labour. Most of these frames are intended to be placed at right angles to the building, i.e. they contain the transoms that carry the boards. Two types of frame have been popular, 1.25 m or 1.5 m high for bricklaying, and 1.8 m or 2 m for walk-through frames for painting and rendering.
