Reading, writing and talking

While considering the status of writing in science lessons it is also worth bearing in mind how the work is going to be marked. If pupils were to compile all their own notes they would need to be checked for correct science and presumably for correct use of grammar and spelling. Such a task would drive even the fittest of teachers to an early grave. A key factor in deciding the type of writing that we are going to ask pupils to do must be the feasibility of marking the work.
