ABSTRACT
We all tell stories - at mealtimes, in the pub, in court. We tell one another stories about what has happened, or supposed to have hap pened. When we chat to one another, we very often make stories about ourselves - about our excursions and exploits, about our thoughts and feelings. We create stories out of our memories - turning our lives into words and keeping our past alive. That's what stories are.
