ABSTRACT

The following sections describe some of the more common approaches in land evaluation; specific crop requirements useful for land evaluation are given in Annex F. Summaries and reviews of the more important land evaluation systems are contained in Young (1976), Dent and Young (1981) and McRae and Burnham (1981); the last-named give particularly detailed comparison tables of the advantages and disadvantages of the main methods. Terrain evaluation is covered by Mitchell (1973b).
