ABSTRACT
Types of walls and the functional requirements of walls are discussed in Part 1, chapter 5, where the construction of masonry and frame walls is described in detail. The behaviour of the wall under various conditions of loading is discussed in chapter 3 of that volume. Some further aspects of the strength and stability of walls are examined here.
