ABSTRACT
The number ofjudges required for a sitting ofthe Court of Appeal is governed by s 55 ofthe 1981 Act:
• When determining an appeal against conviction, the Court of Appeal must comprise at least three judges; one or more of the judges must be a Lord ]ustice of Appeal. The decision is by majority (the presiding judge does not have a casting vote). Usually, only one judgment will be delivered.
