ABSTRACT
The Dutch geographical tradition differs considerably from that of its European neighbours in various respects. Most notable of the differences is that , since 1907, physical and human geography have followed entirely separate paths. Physical geography became almost identical to geomorphology. Human geography was identified explicitly as a social science, and has been called social geography since 1921.
