The noun–adjective phrases

A noun-adjective phrase, which occurs very frequently in Arabic, consists of a noun followed by one or more adjectives.

In a noun-adjective phrase the adjective follows the noun. This order is the opposite of English; thus the English adjectival phrase ‘the white house’ is rendered in Arabic as ﺾﻴﺑﻷﺍﺖﻴﺒﻟﺍ, with the adjective ﺾﻴﺑﻷﺍ following the noun ﺖﻴﺒﻟﺍ.
