ABSTRACT
Introduction In this chapter we are going to consider several different aspects of the criminal justice system. The criminal justice system is a vast and complex area of any English legal system course. As a result we have taken the decision to focus our attention on areas which we believe are the most popular assessment areas. This means that certain aspects of the criminal justice system such as court procedure are not covered in this revision guide. You should check your course syllabus and speak with your lecturer regarding the scope and focus of YOUR course. Remember that there can be signifi cant variations between courses in terms of content and focus.
