ABSTRACT

The readers will probably have many questions regarding the decoding and following of the principles in this large list of techniques and strategies. Our advice in such cases is that they try to deduce using logic, and to think with their bodies. It is quite possible that while they are seeking the correct path they will come up with new discoveries in the vocabulary of group pantomime. Main strategies of group pantomime: Continuation of movement; Condensing of time; Condensing of space; Two bodies in one; Remote control techniques; Cadence techniques with a common centre of gravity; Creating a collective image such as machine, animal, crowd, nature, concept, and category. Strategies of physical theatre borrowed from group pantomime: Automated perfection; Separation such as work only with one part or area of the bodies, so that the 'movement motor' can be observed; Inner psycho-physical juxtaposition that reveals the rhythm of desire; Dynamic sphere and Movement echo.
